Council Plan For Swansea

Newcastle Herald

Tuesday September 8, 1998

LAKE Macquarie City Council is considering changing height restrictions to allow development on the Swansea waterfront.

A council committee meeting heard last night of plans for a number of developments at Swansea, including a building up to 14 metres high.

Buildings are now restricted to nine metres.

Council will also consider:

* Tourist accommodation or serviced apartments at Josephson St, Belmont St and on the Pacific Highway.

* Further development of Swansea RSL site and residential sites fronting the channel.

* Traffic diversion near the Black Swan Motel to allow tourist development.
